Yup, some more train wrecks - No (1 to 87 scale) people were damaged in these test! - as work on the Sketchi Railroading End Of Track Safety System (EOTSS) continues. A second configuration 'Side Configuration' - where a plunger is pushed as a car arrives to shut off power to the engine. The videos show some successes, but not enough to stop looking for a better solution. For you physics / mechanics enthusiasts, a key issue why the system fails relates to the COG -Center of Gravity of the car activating the limit switch. Duh, given how easily cars get derailed, it is not exactly a surprise that systems that contact the cars are difficult to make work. Stay tuned for testing of additional configurations including those with non-contact sensors. The Model Train Safety Board does caution the general public from attending test as the potential for a train wreck has been demonstrated. Follow Sketchi Railroading on FB
